During the course of any given school year, students will spend more than 1,300 hours on campus. To that end, we believe the student’s experience of the atmosphere and physical environment at LCA plays a role in inspiring excellence and instilling pride in their school.
This year’s Pledge for the Cause at our annual auction will be dedicated to re-creating common spaces around campus that all students will enjoy. We’d like to re-imagine both upper and lower school lunchroom settings. Each of us has a favorite restaurant and would probably agree that our patronage there isn’t solely due to the good food. How we feel in that space is a determining factor in our decision to return time after time. Our goal is to redesign each lunchroom, inclusive of new paint, new seating, and new microwaves, in a way that promotes conversation and fosters a sense of warmth and belonging.
In addition we want to breathe new life into the halls of our Lodge and US building by updating paint, flooring, and considering the best plan for displaying student achievements. The students of LCA are exceptional and we want to highlight their accomplishments in a way that’s visibly appealing and honors their hard and diligent work. It is amazing the way color, texture, and attention to detail can inspire us. This inspiration is what we are aiming to create in our hallways.
This year's goal for Pledge for the Cause goal is $50,000 to cover the anticipated costs associated with these dreams.
The students of LCA have been the direct beneficiary of Pledge for the Cause each year. 100% of funds raised during this portion of the Auction go to accomplishing the goals detailed above.
